LESSON 2: Similarities and Differences of MEDIA LITERACY, INFORMATION LITERACY & TECHNOLOGY LITERACY LITERACY is the term coined for the ability to identify, understand, interpret, create, compute and communicate using printed and written materials. Understanding Media Literacy The term media is a noun, which is the plural form of medium, refers to the communication channels through which we disseminate news, music, movies, education, promotional messages and other information. Media literacy is the ability to identify, analyze, and evaluate the messages we receive through various communication channels. It empowers us to navigate the complex media landscape and make informed decisions as consumers of information. By understanding the nature of media, its purpose, and its impact, we can become more critical and discerning in our consumption of news, entertainment, and digital content.
