Science Review I. Definitions 1. Physical properties: Meaning they can be observed or measured without changing the material’s composition. 2. Chemical properties: Are the characteristics that manifest themselves when there is a change in composition of matter. 3. Solid state: have a well-defined shape and volume. 4. Liquid state: have a defined volume but they change to the shape of the place they are in. 5. Gas state: have no defined shape or volume, so they fill the space of their container. 6. Pure substances: contain only one type of particle and their composition is uniform and constant. 7. Mixture: is a combination of two or more pure substances. 8. Heterogeneous Mixture: are those consisting of pure materials or mixtures of materials that do not combine or have the same proportions. 9. Homogeneous mixture: have the same properties, such as texture, color smell or taste throughout.
