Identify key elements of Romanesque architecture. Romanesque architecture is a style of architecture that was popular in Europe during 900 to 1200. Romanesque architecture included a lot of christian art of the time. This era was named the Romanesque era because it's an artistic style that resembled the Roman style. One key element of this era was the Groin and barrel vaults, similar to those of the Romans. A groin Vault is a that is two intersecting barrel vaults. (Kleiner page. 340) Another key element of the romanesque architect was the replacement and remodeling of roofs, using vaults.
