Katipunan Discovered in 1896 that resulted to Philippine Revolution It was only Katipunan that envisioned a united Filipino nation that would revolt against the Spaniards. Its primary goal was to gain independence from Spain through a revolution. Katipunan: Aims 1. CIVIC - based on the principle of self-help and the defense of the weak and the poor. 2. POLITICAL - the separation of the Philippines from Spain to secure the independence of the colony. 3.
