Gang-Rip Straight-Line Rip Gang-rips are high production machines o Uses several blades to separate stock into predetermined widths (2x4’s) Straight-line rip, single blade (glue-line-rip), HolyTek Machine o Gives a straight edge that is ready to glue without jointing o Has pressure rollers above (not motorized) o Has track-belt underneath (powered) o Has 2 sets of anti-kickback fingers o Danger of kick-back is real, especially when cutting narrow strips Kevlar apron Parts must be wide enough to make contact with pressure bars Min 14” long o Saw is on top o Rip-fence is a guide or stop, the machine pulls the board in-line with how it is positioned o Height must be adjusted for different material thicknesses Pressure rollers and shroud around saw is what changes 3mm below stock thickness is best to ensure proper pressure Grabs rough lumber better than dressed o Blade runs in a groove in the track Only adjust blade height when changing the blade or making grooves/slots o Laser guide allows you to direct the board in the exact position of the blade
