MANA-AY,RN,MAN CHAPTERS CHAPTER I INTRODUCTION CHAPTER II REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE CHAPTER III METHODOLOGY CHAPTER IV RESULTS AND DISCUSSION CHAPTER V SUMMARY, CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION/IMPLICATION CHAPTERS CHAPTER I INTRODUCTION CHAPTER II REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE CHAPTER III METHODOLOGY CHAPTER IV RESULTS AND DISCUSSION CHAPTER V SUMMARY, CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION/IMPLICATION WRITING THE CHAPTER I Chapter I- The Problem and Its Setting Sections : Introduction Statement of the Problem Significance of the Study Scope and Limitation Definition of Terms TITLE In a QUANTITATIVE PAPER, the independent variable is the variable that is varied or manipulated by the researcher. The dependent variable is the response that is measured. For example: In a study of how different doses of a drug affect the severity of symptoms, a researcher could compare the frequency and intensity of symptoms when different doses are administered. Here the independent variable is the dose and the dependent variable is the frequency/intensity of symptoms. TITLE A QUALITITATIVE PAPER must include the phenomenon/main topic and the local of the study. For example: UNIFYING BUSINESS AND HEALTHCARE: EXPERIENCES OF NURSE ENTREPRENEURS IN SOCCSKSARGEN WRITING THE INTRODUCTION Introduction: 1-2 pages Presents how the problem evolved Problematic situation must be presented to justify the conduct of the study Organization of ideas follows the inverted pyramid (universal to local perspective) May use 2-4 citations to support problematic situation Includes connection of the problematic scenario and the reason for choosing the topic for your paper. Ends with a concluding statement. WRITING THE OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY QUALITATIVE RESEARCH: 1 grand tour question -What are the experiences of Nurse Entrepreneurs in SOCCSCSARGEN? WRITING THE OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH: (depending on the variables of the study) 1. What are the profile of the respondents 4. What are the elements considered by in terms of: the nurse entrepreneurs in terms a. Demographic profile of: b. Nursing experience a. Establishment of the business c. Business profile b. Influences 2. What are the experiences affecting the c. Motivation nurse entrepreneurs? d. Strategies 3. What are the effects of these 5. How do nurse entrepreneurs deal with experiences to their lives, specifically: challenges and pressure related a. Advantages to business and the nursing profession. b. Disadvantages WRITING THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY ▪Present the data according to its degree of importance. ▪Presents the major importance of the study to the following: ✓Community ✓Students ✓Teachers and Administrators ✓Other groups of people ✓Future researchers ✓The Researcher WRITING THE SCOPE AND DELIMITATION ▪Around 3-4 paragraphs ▪Presents the variables to be investigated as stipulated in the Statement of the Problem ▪Shows the extent of investigation in terms of: ✓Locale ✓Time ✓Subjects/Participants ✓Constraints ▪Also includes the limitation of the study WRITING THE DEFINITION OF TERMS Starts with a short introduction Based from the technical terms in the Title and Statement of the Problem Conceptual Definition- dictionary or universal definition of the term Operational Definition- definition as to how the term is used in the study. CHAPTERS CHAPTER I INTRODUCTION CHAPTER II REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE CHAPTER III METHODOLOGY CHAPTER IV RESULTS AND DISCUSSION CHAPTER V SUMMARY, CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION/IMPLICATION WRITING THE CHAPTER II Chapter II-Review of Related Literature Sections : Chapter Introduction Theoretical Framework (Quantitative and Qualitative Research) Conceptual Framework (Quantitative Research) Review of Related Literature Main Topic Subtopic WRITING THE REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE Must include variables in the title and topics under statement of the problem; Included in the RRLs should be adequate to support the problem scenario. It includes related studies and or previously conducted research studies. WRITING THE CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK Must include variables of the study in a framework that will illustrate the relationship of variable; The conceptual framework must be described in a narrative format after the illustration. CHAPTERS CHAPTER I INTRODUCTION CHAPTER II REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE CHAPTER III METHODOLOGY CHAPTER IV RESULTS AND DISCUSSION CHAPTER V SUMMARY, CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION/IMPLICATION WRITING THE CHAPTER III Chapter III-Research Methodology Sections : Chapter Introduction Research Design Locale of the Study Respondents of the Study Sampling Procedure Data Gathering Procedure Data Gathering Instruments Data Analysis/Statistical Tool WRITING THE RESEARCH DESIGN Includes the design utilized for the study Reason why it is best fitted for the paper Include citation of what is the relevance to the paper. WRITING THE LOCALE OF THE STUDY Includes the description of where the study will be conducted and why. Put a map of your chosen locale. WRITING THE RESPONDENTS OF THE STUDY Includes the description of the chosen respondents and why. Describe the criteria for choosing the said respondents. WRITING THE DATA GATHERING PROCEDURE Narrative form. Includes protocol and specifications how the respondents/ participants will be involved in the study Describes the steps prior and during the conduct of the study and also after data collection. WRITING THE DATA GATHERING INSTRUMENTS Includes all the instruments used in the conduct of the study per Statement of the Problem. Must explain in detail how the instruments will be developed, validated or pilot tested if necessary Other secondary instruments used WRITING THE DATA ANALYSIS OR STATISTICAL TOOL Describes what data analysis method to be utilized in interpreting data collected and collated from the respondents. It will explain thoroughly the manner of data analysis or the model used for data analysis (qualitative research) Describes what specific statistical tool to be utilized for each SOP and explains why (quantitative research). IN-TEXT CITATIONS ▪ APA Style uses the author-date citation system to cite references in the text. In this system, each work used in a paper has two parts: an in-text citation and a corresponding reference list entry. ▪ The in-text citation appears within the body of the paper and briefly identifies the cited work by its author and date of publication. IN-TEXT CITATIONS ▪ In parenthetical citations, the author name and publication date appear in parentheses. ▪ In narrative citations, this information is incorporated into the text as part of the sentence. It IN-TEXT CITATIONS IN-TEXT CITATIONS ESSENCE OF PARAPHRASING According to Brenda Spatt…….. You retain everything about the original writing but the words. HOW TO PARAPHRASE A TEXT 1. Quickly review the passage to get a sense of the whole, and then go through the passage carefully, sentence by sentence. 2. State the ideas in your own words, defining words as needed. 3. If necessary, edit for clarity, but don't change the meaning. 4. If you borrow phrases directly, put them in quotation marks. 5. Check your paraphrase against the original for accurate tone and meaning. End of Presentation
