SORTING- Get all the clothes ready for washing. Find out if there are tears and holes that need to be mended or stains that need to be removed. Separate the white pieces from the colored ones. Inspect the pockets for coins, pins, etc. Separate the dirtiest from the less soiled clothes and the small pierces form the big ones. 2. SOAKING- Soak the clothes in water to loosen the dirt. Start soaking the less soiled garments and be careful with colored ones. Be sure that the colored clothes do not stain the plain ones. HELE4 HANDOUT MR. NOLI S. When washing clothes by hand, rub more soap on the more soiled parts such as collars, neckline, sleeves and hems of the garments and for small articles and fine fabrics. For washing machines, using detergent is preferable. Detergent is a powdered soap that easily dissolves in water to form soapsuds. 4. RINSING- After soaping, clothes are rinsed in clean water to further remove dirt and the unpleasant smell. Rinse properly includes rubbing, dipping the clothes in water and allowing the water to pass through the insides of the clothes so that cloning suds are removed. 5. DRYING- Remove all excess water in the clothes by shaking or squeezing them and hanging them loosely on the clothesline. For faster drying, the wet clothes are arranged in a spinner and then spun for 5 minutes or more, making the clothes half dry and ready for hanging. For homes with fryers, the spun clothes are placed in a dryer. The dryer produces hot air as it rotates, allowing for the fast evaporation of water or moisture in clothes. HELE4 HANDOUT MR. NOLI S.
