6.3.5 Method concept generation method Week 4 6.3.5 Method 6 people. 3 concepts. 5 minutes Aim: to use quick fire sketching techniques to come up with problem solution ideas or concepts Process: 6 people - 3 concepts - 5 minutes i. involves 6 participants who sit in a group and are supervised by a facilitator/moderator. Each participant thinks up 3 ideas every 5 minutes. ii. Participants are encouraged to draw on others' ideas for inspiration. After 6 rounds in 30 minutes the group would have thought up a total of 108 ideas! (6x3x30/5) 1 2 3 1 page of results 5.3.5 5 minutes 5 people x 3 concepts x 25/5 = 75 concepts in 25 minutes 5 minutes Process: 5 people - 3 concepts each in 5 mins; lasts total of 25 minutes = 75 concepts 6.3.5 Tutorial/ Workshop In your groups, carry out ideas generation, using 5.3.5 or 4.3.5, for your problem area. Generate 3 concepts each turn; each 5 minutes Switch sheets clockwise to next participant Repeat, creating 3 more concepts relating to the previous concepts above; 5 mins Continue till initial sheets have made full rotation of group (ie 25 or 20 minutes)
