DEFINITION of TERMS Alma Ata Declaration -- emerged as a major milestone of the 20^th^ century in the field of public health. Primary Health Care -- a whole-of-society approach to effectively organize and strengthen national health systems to bring services for health and well-being closer to communities Rural Health Unit (RHU) -- municipal LGU-owned health facility that provides out-patient primary health care services. Ambulatory Surgical Clinic -- specialized medical facilities that provide outpatient surgical care. Dialysis Clinic -- a center that helps people with kidney disease or failure Infirmary -- a place in a large institution for the care of those who are ill Clinical laboratory -- where tests are conducted out on a clinical specimens to obtain information about the health of a patient to aid in diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases Cellular therapy-- the transplantation of human cells to replace or repair damaged tissue and/or cells Multisectoral policy -- integrated, collaborative process whereby different sectors come together to address complex challenges and interrelated goals relating to primary health care. Neurological examination -- assessment of sensory neuron and motor responses, especially reflexes, to determine whether the nervous system is impaired. Cognitive status -- refers to a person's ability to process and comprehend information Health promotion -- process of enabling people to increase control over, and to improve their health Prophylaxis -- action taken to prevent disease, especially by specified means or against a specified disease Intervention -- action taken to improve a situation, especially a medical disorder Chronic condition -- a disease or condition that usually lasts for 3 months or longer and may get worse over time Disease progression -- refers to the sequence of new symptoms that develop over time in chronic or incurable disease Physiotherapist -- works with patients to help them manage pain, balance, mobility, and motor function Immunization -- process of giving a vaccine to a person to protect them against disease vaccination -- simple, safe and effective way of protecting people against harmful diseases before they come into contact with them quality of life -- standard of health, comfort, and happiness experienced by an individual or group socio economic condition - a way of describing people based on their education, income and type of a job health education -- individual / groups' internal and external factors that influence their health status through potentially improving their knowledge, skills and beliefs within a positive health paradigm nutrition -- branch of science that deals with nutrients particularly in humans deficiency -- quality or state of lacking some necessary quality or element sanitation -- process of making something completely clean and free from bacteria hygiene -- conditions or practices conducive to maintaining health and preventing disease through cleanliness rehabilitative care -- any type of medical, therapeutic or mental and behavioral health care that helps an individual maintain, regain or improve function and skills digital health -- refers to tools and services that use information and communication technologies to improve prevention, diagnosis, treatment, monitoring and management of health-related issued and to monitor and manage lifestyle habits that impact health infrastructure -- basic, physical and organizational structures and facilities needed for the operation of a society or enterprise workforce development -- attempts to enhance a region's economic stability and prosperity by focusing on people rather that businesses.
