Now, if Philosophy means Love of Wisdom, to philosophize, therefore, is to be in quest, or to have a desire towards loving and living the truth. Babor, 2017 So, given these definitions, what is Philosophy then? M E TA P H YS I C S Metaphysics is a branch of philosophy that deals with immaterial things, it is the abstract things that is very important to philosophy. M E TA P H Y S I C A L QUESTIONS Is there really a God? EPISTEMOLOGY Epistemology is the branch of philosophy concerned with knowledge. Epistemologists study the nature of knowledge, epistemic justification, the rationality of belief, and various related issues. E P I S T E M O LO GY How can we know or ensure that God really exist? AXIOLOGY Axiology is the study of the nature of value and valuation, and of the kinds of things that are valuable. What can I gain with that? AXIOLOGY 1. ETHICS – GOOD OR BAD 2. AESTHETICS- BEAUTY AND UGLINESS AXIOLOGY 1. What is the value of God for you? 2. What can you get if you believe in God? HOLISTIC PERSPECTIVE We don’t judge based only through our senses. But we gather information from our past experiences, from personal beliefs and values, and other relevant facts that can be used in making the right decision in life. It could be based on our senses like what we see or hear.
