Work Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)

  • Suppliers (manufacturers) must provide SDS and labels for controlled products, and ensure they are accurate and up-to-date.

Workers' Responsibilities under WHMIS

  • Workers are responsible for taking necessary steps to protect themselves and others from hazardous materials, and participating in WHMIS training.

Controlled Products under WHMIS

  • Controlled products are hazardous materials that meet certain criteria, such as being toxic, flammable, or corrosive.
