Filipino Psychology (Sikolohiyang Pilipino)
- Filipino psychology, also known as sikolohiyang Pilipino, is the scientific study of psychology derived from the experience, ideas, and cultural orientation of the Filipinos.
- It was founded by Virgilio G. Enriquez, who is considered the father of sikolohiyang Pilipino.
- The subject matter of sikolohiyang Pilipino includes kamalayan (consciousness), ulirat (awareness of one’s immediate surroundings), isip (knowledge and understanding), diwa (habits and behavior), kalooban (emotions or feelings), and kaluluwa (psyche or soul of a people).
