Work Conditions and Rest Periods
- Normal hours of work in the Philippines are limited to eight hours a day.
- Health personnel in designated areas are required to work for eight hours a day, five days a week.
- Health personnel may be required to work six days a week for a total of 48 hours, entitled to a 30% compensation increase for the extra day.
- Salaries for public health workers must be paid in legal tender or equivalent checks.
Hours Worked and Rest Periods
- Hours worked encompass time spent on duty, at the designated workplace, or during work permitted by the employer.
- Short rest periods during working hours are counted as hours worked.
- Employers are obligated to provide employees with a minimum of 60 minutes for meals.
Night Shift Differential

Overtime Work
