- Virgilio Enriquez born November 24, 1942, in Santol, Balagtas, Bulacan, Philippines.
- Known as the "Father of Filipino Psychology".
- Pioneered the use of indigenous methods in Philippine social science research.
- Established the Pambansang Samahan sa Sikolohiyang Pilipino (National Organisation of Filipino Psychology) in 1975.
- Earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy in 1961 from the University of the Philippines.
- Joined the faculty of the University of the Philippines Department of Psychology in 1963.
- Became Chairman of the Department of Psychology, holding the position from 1977 to 1982.
- Won a Rockefeller Foundation scholarship to pursue further studies in the United States in 1966.
- Earned a Masters of Arts Degree and a Doctor of Philosophy in Social Psychology from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois, in 1970 and 1971 respectively.
