The industry requires graduates with the personal attributes of being able to think critically and creatively, as well as having problem solving skills among others (Suknaisith, 2013) The learners utilizing self-directed learning are able to learn better and have a greater capacity to remember what they learn over a longer period of time. This is in addition to their being able to apply their knowledge better than those learners who only wait to receive such knowledge directly from their instructors.
