A m/v or trailer bought at an auction – if Ministry approved auction (further info) O.Reg. 628 12(1) 22 23 Dealer Permit/Plate • Issued to: – Dealer in M/V – O.Reg. 628 13(1) 24 Dealer Permit/Plate Use • May be used – Purpose related to sale – Private use in Ontario if part of inventory • Shall not be used – M/V kept for private use – Commercial vehicle for private use – Commercial vehicle loaded with goods – O.Reg. 628 13(2)(3)(4)(5) 25 Dealer Permit/Plate Use New Exemption : January 1st, 2021 If a dealer plate is being used on a commercial motor vehicle that is a pick-up truck, the pick-up truck may be used for private use in Ontario but shall not tow or draw any vehicle O. reg 734/20. A dealer plate may be used on a commercial vehicle that is loaded with goods if, the vehicle is a pick-up truck that has no more than two axles, has a MGVW of 3400Kg or less, and is fitted with the original box or duplicate replacement. 26 Dealer Plate 27 Service Permit/Plate Issued to garages for: – Repairing – Customizing – Modifying – Transporting • Trailers • M/V other than M/C or moped – Manufacturer / Sale • Trailers • O.Reg. 628 13.1 28 Service Permit/Plate Use • May be used for – Repairing, Customizing, Modifying, Transporting – Manufacturer /sale of trailers • May not be used for – Vehicle kept for private use or hire – Commercial vehicle / trailer loaded with goods • O.Reg. 628 13.1(2)(3)(4)(5) 29 Service Plate 30 Next Period Next period 1.
