(haemostatic mechanism other than blood clotting). 3.Materials & method: a)Materials: -70%alcohol -sterile pin or lancet -filter paper. b)Method (Steps): -sterilize the thumb or ear lobule, prick it with sterile pin & record the time at pricking. -wipe the oozing blood by filter paper every 15-30 sec. without touching the skin till bleeding stops & record the time at stoppage. -bleeding time is the time from pricking to stoppage of bleeding.
