PHYSICAL EDUCATION instruction in the development and care of the body ranging from simple calisthenic exercises to a course of study providing training in hygiene, gymnastics, and the performance and management of athletic games. Physical education provides cognitive content and instruction designed to develop motor skills, knowledge, and behaviors for physical activity and physical fitness. It aims to develop students' physical competence and knowledge of movement and safety, and their ability to use these to perform in a wide range of activities associated with the development of an active and healthy lifestyle. An integral part of educational program designed to promote the optimum development of an individual OBJECTIVES OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION Physical development- refers to the growth and refinement of motor skills, or in other words, children's abilities to use and control their own bodies. These advancements are evident in gross- and fine-motor skills, and they are essential to children's overall health and wellness. SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT Social development is gradually gaining certain skills such as language and personal skills, attitudes, relationships, and behavior that enable the individual to interact with others and to function as a member of society. is concerned with helping an individual in making personal adjustments, group adjustment, and adjustments as a member of society EMOTIONAL It involves learning what feelings and emotions are, understanding how and why they occur, recognizing your own feelings and those of others, and developing effective ways for managing those feelings. It is also refers to the growth and changes in the body and brain, the senses, motor skills, and health and wellness. Cognitive development involves learning, attention, memory, language, thinking, reasoning, and creativity. Psychosocial development involves emotions, personality, SPIRITUAL relates to fundamental questions about the meaning and purpose of life which affect everyone, and is not dependent on a religious affiliation. Spiritual development is not about becoming, more spiritual, it is about realizing or becoming more and more aware of one's natural, innate spirituality. contributes to the holistic growth of a child, encompassing not only cognitive aspects but also emotional, social, and moral dimensions. These values provide a foundation for character development, fostering qualities such as empathy, compassion, and resilience.
