Prophylactic treatment is used in healthcare to preserve health and prevent the spread of disease. PROPHYLACTIC HEALTH CARE is used to describe procedures and treatments that prevent something from happening. PROPHYLACTIC MEDICINE includes vaccines and medications that prevent an illness or a recurrence of a condition sometimes prophylaxis involves surgery. Prophylaxis is a good thing in healthcare it prevents a problem by addressing the potential issue before it actually becomes problematic. The prevention of disease is often easier, faster, less expensive, and less painful than treating the disease.
