Child Milestones relevant to Jared ================================== ![A chart with text and images Description automatically generated with medium confidence](media/image2.png) CP Classification and Symptoms/pathophysiology in children ========================================================== A diagram of different types of body parts Description automatically generated - A group of permanent disorders of the development of movement and posture, causing activity limitation, that are attributed to non-progressive disturbances that occurred in the developing foetal or infant brain - **Pathophysiology:** - Intraventricular haemorrhage (IVH) -- bleeding into the ventricles of the brain. The blood vessels around the ventricles develop late in 3^rd^ trimester, thus preterm infants have underdeveloped periventricular blood vessels, predisposing them to increased risk of IVH. The risk of CP increases with the severity of IVH - Early signs of CP - Developmental delays -- child is slow to meet milestones such as rolling over, sitting, crawling and walking - Abnormal muscle tone. Body parts are floppy or too stiff - Abnormal posture Cramped synchronous movements ============================= - Simultaneous contraction of the limbs and trunk, that often appear rigid rather than smoother writhing body movements - Abnormal feeding and sucking patterns may be indicative of brain injury or abnormalities How delayed are Jared's milestones ================================== +-----------------------+-----------------------+-----------------------+ | **Milestone** | **Jared** | **Normal** | +=======================+=======================+=======================+ | Rolling | 12 months | 4-8 months rolls from | | | | back to stomach | +-----------------------+-----------------------+-----------------------+ | Sitting | 10 months | 4-8 months sitting | | | | with hand support | | | | | | | | 8-12 months sits | | | | alone | +-----------------------+-----------------------+-----------------------+ | Bunny Hopping | 16 months | | +-----------------------+-----------------------+-----------------------+ | Cruising | 20 months | 8-12 | +-----------------------+-----------------------+-----------------------+ | Walking | 24 months | 1-2 years | +-----------------------+-----------------------+-----------------------+ | Running | Still cant | 1-2 years | +-----------------------+-----------------------+-----------------------+ | Steps | Still cant | | +-----------------------+-----------------------+-----------------------+ | Talking | Only 1-2 words | | | | together 50-60 words | | +-----------------------+-----------------------+-----------------------+
