Areas of Responsibility** J3 have overall military deployment responsibility for the Sovereign Base Areas and responsibility for advice to the Administrator of significant military and non-military events in the SBAs and in Cyprus which may affect the SBAA. In the event where a live incident takes place, the Joint Operations Centre Cyprus (JOCC) will be activated. It may be supported by either the Western Operations Centre (WOC), located in the Ground Operations Complex, at RAF Akrotiri (WSBA) or the Dhekelia Operations Centre (DOC), which is in the HQ Dhekelia Garrison (ESBA). **3. Communications** A list of all SBA Police Officers and useful telephone numbers for SBA Administration and Operations Centres, including On-Call lists, are currently available to the Unified Control Room (UCR) at the M1 and Police stations' Control Rooms. **4. Joint Operations Centre Cyprus (JOCC)** The focal point for the passage of operational information within the SBAA is J3 Ops during work hours or the J3 Ops Duty Officer when out of hours. Once informed of an incident or information the SBA Police UCR Duty Inspector will inform the SBAA Duty Officer and, where appropriate, the relevant military authority and Media Ops. **5. Responsibility of SBA Police for Passage of Information** When significant information or report of an incident is received by the SBA Police, the UCR Duty Inspector will immediately inform the following: a. b. The initial report may be rudimentary but should be confirmed later giving available detail. UCR Duty Inspector and Supervisory officers should ensure these reports are made without delay and should not await instructions from senior officers. **6. Communications with Cyprus Police** Routine and urgent matters should be communicated to the Cyprus Police without delay. Sensitive non-urgent issues, however, should first be referred to senior officers. **7. Definition of Significant matters** It is not possible to provide a comprehensive definition of what is a significant report or incident, but it includes the following: a. b. c. d. e. f. g. h. i. j. k. **8. General** A confirmation report of all incidents should be compiled. The report may be transmitted by fax or by e-mail at the direction of the Senior Officer on call Divisional Commander or Superintendent. Whenever there will be passage of information to any other agency, a relevant addition to the DOR entry is to be made and the actual report sent, should also be copied to the respective Divisional OIU Manager for filing.
