By Address: a. SINGLE ADDRESS MESSAGE – contains only one addressee a. MULTIPLE ADDRESS MESSAGE – contains two or more addressees and that all of them need to know the identity of the other addressees 3 Types of Messages CAPABLE CREDIBLE SUSTAINABLE 2. By Purpose/Function: a. OFFICIAL MESSAGES – specifically pertains to the official or related functions of the military establishments a. UNOFFICIAL MESSAGES – personal messages a. CONFIDENTIAL – unauthorized disclosure will not endanger national security but will cause administrative embarrassment, unwanted injury to individual and to be of advantage to foreign nation c.
