**LESSON 4. ELEMENTS OF MOVEMENT SPACE** 1. **DIRECTION** The line of movement That can be forward or backward sideward, diagonally and upward. You can also combine these directions in various ways. 2. **LEVEL** It refers to how you move through space. You can move at a high level, low level medium level. 1. **Low Level**- Actions create a sense of ground, connection with the earth rest or vulnerability. Example: Bending kneeling, rolling, crawling, crouching, sitting. 2. **Medium Level-** shapes and actions bring a sense of human action and scale to dance. Examples: gestures, walking, stepping, running, and balancing. 3. **High Level-** shapes or actions move away from the ground defying gravity by pushing up and into the air. Example: Jumping, hopping, and leaping. 3. **RANGE** Is the space your body travels through. It shows how far you move. This area can be small or large, it includes all the space you reach and It\'s the extent of your movement. 4. **PATHWAY** Pathway refers to the routes created by movement directions in space. These routes can form distinct patterns. When you move, you trace pathways in the air or on the ground. These pathways show the direction of your movement that helps visualize how you travel through space (straight, curved, zigzag). 5. **SHAPE** The overall design of movement includes where it happens in space. It considers the location of the movement. This design also includes the size of the movement, it shows how and where the movement occurs. 6. **DIMENSION** The space in which the movement takes place.
