Sarmiento Theater or performance arts is an art form in which the performers communicate their message to their audience through facial expressions, dialogues, or bodily movements. Aside from dramatic actions and speech, the performers also use dance and music as their expressions on stage. Theater arts has long been a tradition in Philippine society. It is effectively used as a form of people’s expression and entertainment. It is also educational and it is important in promoting our nation’s cultural identity. It can be generally classified into the professional group and the non- professional group. It is a musical performance, also known as a musical comedy, which is a typically sentimental and entertaining theatrical production that has a simple but distinctive plot and features music, dance, and dialogue.
