The compass rose – is a common symbol on a map - This symbol helps us locate places on a map using S the primary directions. Primary Directions:  North GS  South  East  West The upper portion of the map is NORTH, represented by the letter N. The lower portion of the map is SOUTH, represented by the letter S. The right side of the map is EAST, represented by the letter E. The left side of the map is WEST, represented by the letter W. M We can find these directions in a compass rose. The Philippines is a country surrounded by water; thus, we do not have land boundaries.
