LESSON 1. DEFINITION AND SCOPE OF HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT LEARNING OUTCOMES: At the end of this lesson, the students can: 1. Describe human resource management, its nature, and scope correctly using graphic organizers; 2. Synthesize historical milestones in human resource management accurately through a timeline; 3. Discuss the different features of human resource management accurately using the provided template. INTRODUCTION: Education as a discipline adapted concepts from the established theories and principles in the business world. One of these concepts is Human Resource Management. You are wondering why education students like you must earn latter- level units. It is believed that teachers are hired to teach in the classrooms. However, on many occasions, these teachers were given the daunting task of functioning as officers-in-charge in small remote schools and eventually placed in better positions like principals and supervisors. As part of your preparation, one crucial component that you need to muster is management. In this course, we focused on human resource management. On top of the management concerns, as social studies students, you are to look into relationship pathways in the school environment. Hence, this course is integrated into your program of study.
