Lesson 1: The Rooms in the House What is a house to you? When a house is called a home? They say that the house is the structure we live in, while the home includes the family who lives in it- a family that lives in harmony with one another. Your house is your home. It is the place where you feel secure, loved and taken care of. It is the place where you can do your personal activities with privacy. It is the place where you look forward to being after school or after play so you can rest, sleep, relax and be with your family. The Rooms in the House ★ Living Room- This is where the family receives and entertain guests, relatives and friends. This is where the family gathers for recreational activities; converse with family members and friends, celebrate occasions such as birthdays, reunions and anniversaries. ★ Bedroom- This room provides the privacy that each family member need to have for their personal needs and interests. It is a place to rest, relax, sleep and listen to your favorite music. It can also serve as a study room to do homeroom and other school assignments. ★ Dining Room- This is the place to partake in family meals, hold family meetings and entertain guests. ★ Kitchen- This room is usually found nearest to the dining room. It is the busiest place for preparing food. It should be the cleanest palace as food is prepared and stored here and it is where tools and utensils are kept. ★ Toilet and Bathroom- This is where the personal hygiene routines of every family member are performed. This includes bathing, washing, brushings of teeth and daily elimination among others.
