THE VISION, MISSION, GOALS & OBJECTIVES OF THE INSTITUTION MS. MARTINA DEANNE C. MENDOZA, RMT EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION Educational institution – is a place where learners of different ages gain an education that includes daycare, pre-schools, grade schools, intermediate, secondary, and even senior high schools, as well as colleges and universities. Two types of education: ❑Formal education – follows conventional classroom whereby a governing body administers a structured learning method, and a school or other institutions are usual places for learning. ❑Informal education – anything learned more independently outside of the conventional classroom. It is not restricted to any certain location and usually integrates itself with the surroundings. VISION & MISSION STATEMENT Vision Statement ❑A vision statement conveys the desired end of an academic institution. It is usually a one-sentence statement that describes the distinct and motivating long-term desired transformation resulting from institutional programs. ❑Should be clear, memorable, and concise with an average length of 14 words (the longest may contain up to 26 words). VISION & MISSION STATEMENT Mission Statement ❑A mission statement is a one-sentence relating the intention of your institution existence. This communicates “What you do or Who you do this for?”. ❑It must be clear by using simple language; concise and “no fluff”, which aims for 5 to 4 words (maximum is 20 words), and valuable, that is informed, focused, and guided. OBJECTIVES Educational Objectives, or goals, are short statements that learners should achieve within or at the end of the course or lesson. It uses the SMART criteria. ❑Specific ❑Measurable ❑Attainable ❑Realistic ❑Time-bound KEY POINTS ✓ An educational institution carries out educational activities that engage students with various learning environments and spaces. ✓ Education is based on an age grade system from preschool, primary, intermediate, and secondary level to the tertiary level. ✓ A vision statement is the desired end of an academic institution.
