Infant and Child ILS - Component 10 Paediatrics in a Shockable rhythm LP 1000 AED mode Paediatric pads Up to the age of 8 Have the LP15 available for the metronome Paediatric pads Remember: paediatric pads WILL NOT fit the LP15 units ©Department of Clinical Education & Standards Infant and Child ILS - Component 10 Use of an LP15 if no LP1000 is available for paediatrics up to the age of 8 Use the LP15 with the ADULT pads in either the anterior- lateral or anterior/posterior position. Use the ‘age per page’ guidance in the JRCALC PLUS app or pocket book to determine what joules are required. Use the LP15 in manual mode to do this. ©Department of Clinical Education & Standards Infant and Child ILS - Component 10 (Under 18) LP1000 (for all children under 18) + LP15 for metronome (15:2) and ETCO2 Age 8+ Under 8 If the LP1000 is not available, use the LP15 with adult pads AND Children under 8 - dial down the energy to 4J per kg Children under 8 – if unable/unsure how to change the energy setting, defibrillate without dialling down the energy Age 8 and over defibrillate without dialling down the energy 21 Infant and Child ILS - Component 10 Paediatric pad placement Anterior posterior.
