Infant and Child ILS - Component 10 Paramedic Assist ©Department of Clinical Education & Standards Infant and Child ILS - Component 10 ALS The emphasis is that we establish ALS, before committing to transporting an infant or child in cardiac arrest to definitive care. ALS = advanced airway & IV access Paramedic skills ©Department of Clinical Education & Standards Infant and Child ILS - Component 10 Post ROSC Care The emphasis on care of paediatric patients should be to remove to hospital without delay. ©Department of Clinical Education & Standards Infant and Child ILS - Component 10 Support: Ensure the family are supported. This may be challenging in the early stages of the emergency, however, once sufficient resources are on scene a member of staff should be tasked with updating and caring for them. Ensure staff involved in a paediatric resuscitation receive support immediately post event, by a suitably qualified manager. (e.g. CTM/IRO/SS/QGAM/GSM) ©Department of Clinical Education & Standards
