It causes physical and emotional changes that get worse over time. How is Huntington’s Disease caused? Huntington’s disease is mainly caused by a faulty gene that results in your brain being gradually damaged over time. What are the symptoms of HD? Difficulty concentrating Mood swings Problems swallowing Involuntary Depression Movements Trouble speaking Difficulty and breathing moving Stumbling and clumsiness People with Huntington's disease usually die within 15 to 20 years of developing the symptoms. HD prognosis Treatments for HD There is no treatment to stop HD. Some symptoms can be treated. Tetrabenazine and Deuterobenzene can treat. Chorea associated with HD Antipsychotic drugs help with hallucinations delusions and violent outbursts.
