CHEMISTRY FOR ENGINEERS ABOUT CRYSTAL LATTICE PRESENTED BY GROUP 3 02 WHAT IS CRYSTAL LATTICE? A crystal lattice is a three-dimensional, ordered arrangement of points that represent the positions of atoms, ions, or molecules in a crystalline solid. A unit cell is the smallest set of symmetrically aligned atoms that can be repeated in an array to form the whole crystal. 04 CHEMISTRY FOR ENGINEERS DIFFERENT LATTICE TYPES 05 CHEMISTRY FOR ENGINEERS DIFFERENT LATTICE TYPES 06 CHEMISTRY FOR ENGINEERS HOW IS IT FORMED? Crystallization is the process where crystals form. It begins at a nucleation site, where a small amount of solid initially forms. This nucleation point accumulates additional layers of atoms, molecules, or ions, creating a crystal lattice with well-defined, uniform shapes. As more substance and time are available, the crystal continues to grow larger. Every lattice point can be associated with one or a unit assembly of atoms or molecules identical in composition called Basis or Pattern. 07 CHEMISTRY FOR ENGINEERS - Knowing the properties and performance of such WHAT IS THE materials that are used in construction sites; quality control, and also applying it to an innovative IMPORTANCE OF IT solution. TO THIS COURSE? - The crystal lattice structure of materials. - The mechanical characteristics of materials, such as strength, durability, and thermal conductivity, are influenced by their crystal lattice structure. 08 09 REFERENCES Crystal Lattice — Structure & Formation - Expii.
