Basic safety rules: Eye protection حماية العين goggles Safety glasses Wear appropriate protective clothing: Your clothing should cover your legs to the knees – shorts are not appropriate for the laboratory. Wear shoes that cover your feet. Sandals and open-toed shoes do not protect your feet from chemical spills and broken glass that is frequently found in the lab. Hair Longer tie back Handling chemical Symbol or label on bottle Ask ? Not guess Avoid Contact to skin Wear gloves and use spatula. Taste Never unless given sp. instructions Heating in test tube Direction Heat test tubes at an angle, directing the opening oppositely to you and other people in the laboratory. Smell Wave vapors toward face Handle hot glassware with gloves or beaker tongs Do not pipet solutions by mouth! Use a rubber suction bulb or other device to fill a pipet. Diluting Acids تخفيف األحماض Acid Water Not vice versa وليس العكس صحيحا Do not Eat ,Drink or Smoke These activities are ways by which you can accidentally ingest harmful chemicals. Splashes from skin Rinse with cold water Or PEG Corrosives المواد الحارقة Eye eyewash open eyelids Noxious gas Fan turn on Burners Turn off before go to next step.
