Christopher Columbus was an Italian adeventurer that in the XV century discovered a new world. He sailed from Spain to west , and according to Toscanelli’s map he wanted to reach Asia, inspired by Marco Polo, but following a road that none had done before. He left Spain on 3rd August 1492 on board of three ships called The Niña, The Pinta and the Santa Maria. After two months of journey in the open Atlantic Ocean he finally found the land and called it San Salvador. He thought it was in Asia, in India. So when he first met the indigeons , he called them Indians. That day is celebrated on 12th October 1492 because C. Columbus linked forever two different worlds that would never be separated again, and this was one of the biggest accomplishments in world history. In total Columbus made four voyages and became also Governor of Indies, as Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand promised. But unfortunately he wasn't a good governor and he was soon removed and arrested. After six months of jail The Queen and the King allowed him to make the final voyage. The first day he arrived there he kidnapped indigeons to sell them in Spain. He believed that slavery was a good thing and encouraged it. C. Columbus was a great sailor, but he wasn’t a hero.
