C300 IO Options 28 February 2024 14:37 Now let's look at the C300 Series C Input Output options in more detail. The C300 controller supports two I/O links with each I/O link consisting of I/O hardware connected to the C300 controller by a pair of I/O link interface cables. Each I/O link can be configured to support either Series C I/O or Process Manager I/O. The Series C I/O is designed in the form factor as shown here. It includes Analog Input, Analog Output, Digital Input, Digital Output, Pulse Input, Universal Input Output, Low Level MUX I/O and Low Level Analog Input modules. The Analog In and Analog Out modules support Hart. All modules except the Low Level MUX can be optionally redundant. The pulse Input module is used to interface with pulsed output transducer like tachometers, flow meters etc. EPKS L1 P2 Page 1 Fieldbus devices are interfaced to the C300 controller through the Series C Fieldbus Interface, which is also designed in the Series C form factor. The C300 controller also supports the same I/O modules from the Process manager family like AI, AO, DI, DO, RTD, T/C, DI SOE. EPKS L1 P2 Page 2 A Fault Tolerant Ethernet Bridge connection brings all Series A I/O modules into the C300 controller. Series C Profibus Gateway module is used for interface with profibus devices. EPKS L1 P2 Page 3 A Fault Tolerant Ethernet Bridge also provides the C300 controller access to Allen Bradley PLCs. The FTEB is in a bridge chassis along with a downlink ControlNet interface card, which gives access to the Allen Bradley PLCs on a ControlNet. EPKS L1 P2 Page 4
