LESSON PLAN Teacher : Bun Soneat Date: 29th/August/2024 Length:1hour/40minutes Number of students: 6 Target language: Conversation about themselves using four questions Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: - Ask and answer four specific questions about themselves. - Practice speaking and listening skills in fun and interactive activities. - Build confidence in speaking personal information Stage Activities Materials Time ❖ Warm-up: The teacher begins with a brief icebreaker activity. Students are asked to stand in a circle and introduce themselves by sharing their name and age. Each student will pass this information to another student, who will repeat it and add their own details until all students have completed the activity. ❖ Activity #1: Flip-chart 20mins Engage Teacher introduces four questions to the students by showing them the flip chart with a sample of the answers. 1. Where are you from? 2. What is your favorite color? 3. What is your favorite hobby? 4. What do you want to be when you grow up? Teacher explains some key vocabulary related to the questions. (e.g., hobby, grow up,…) ❖ Activity #2: Teacher goes directly to students individually to ask them about those four questions and lets them share. Teacher has students work in pairs to take turns asking each other the four questions that talk about their personal information. After a couple of Study minutes, have them switch partners and discuss the 35mins same questions. Repeat this process several times, allowing students to interact with multiple people. (Gallery Walking) Teacher is mobile and encourages students to elaborate on their answers to foster their speaking. ❖ Activity #3: Teacher gets students to play a game “Question Ball Toss”: Teacher prepares a softball and writes each question Activate on a different section of the ball. Students toss the ball to each other, and when someone catches it, they answer the question that is closest to their right thumb. ❖ Activity #4: Teacher lets students play another game called Worksheet 45mins “Find Someone Who...” which allows students to learn about each other’s backgrounds and interests Teacher gives some clues and information to the students to guess (e.g., Find someone who wants to be a teacher, Find someone who likes blue,..) Teacher allows students to guess the names of their friends. ❖ Activity #5 Teacher has students do the assessment worksheet Closure which they have to complete about their information background.
