HOFFMAN ESTATES FIRE DEPARTMENT STANDARD OPERATING GUIDELINES SOG Category & Identification Number: EFFECTIVE DATE: ADMINISTRATIVE GUIDELINES – 033 January 1, 2022 NIMS COMPLIANT SOG Title: Department Phone Contact List Revision: 4 APPROVED BY: NUMBER OF PAGES: Re-evaluation Date: Alan Wax January 1, 2024 Fire Chief 1 PURPOSE The purpose of this Administrative Guideline is to provide a logically organized system of notifying off-duty personnel when the department needs to quickly disseminate important administrative information. This guideline does not replace normal operational callbacks or telephone notifications. DEFINITIONS POLICY It shall be the policy of the Hoffman Estates Fire Department to inform its personnel of important information in the most efficient and effective manner possible. PROCEDURE A. When the Fire Chief or his designee, determines the need to distribute vital information to the entire department, the Hoffman Estates Fire Department Phone Contact List will be utilized. B. Fire Department Officers are expected to contact personnel assigned to them as indicated on the Hoffman Estates Fire Department Shift Roster. C. If an Officer is not able to be reached, the next contacted Officer will not only make phone calls to the personnel assigned to him, but will also contact the personnel assigned to the unavailable officer. In these instances, the Battalion Chief will adjust the responsibilities as he contacts the officers assigned to him. The Fire Department utilizes a Records Management Data Base with addresses, phone numbers, and a current Departmental Shift Roster. This data base shall be updated annually to reflect personnel and phone number changes by the Chief’s Administrative Assistant. EXCEPTIONS REFERENCES End of Document 1
