The body fat percentage is of most interest because it can be very helpful in assessing health. CARDIOVASCULAR FITNESS also called your cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF), says a lot about your health and the potential for health outcomes. Simply put, CRF measures how well your body takes in oxygen and delivers it to your muscles and organs during prolonged periods of exercise. FLEXIBILITY The ability of a joint or series of joints to move through an unrestricted, pain free range of motion. Although flexibility varies widely from person to person, minimum ranges are necessary for maintaining joint and total body health. MUSCULAR ENDURANCE How many times you can move that weight without getting exhausted (very tired). MUSCULAR STRENGTH The amount of force you can put out or the amount of weight you can lift. Skills related components AGILITY The power of moving quickly and easily; nimbleness: exercises demanding agility. The ability to think and draw conclusions quickly; intellectual acuity. BALANCE A state of equilibrium or equipoise; equal distribution of weight, amount, etc. Something used to produce equilibrium; counterpoise. Mental steadiness or emotional stability and habit of calm behavior, judgment, etc. COORDINATION The ability to use different parts of the body together smoothly and efficiently. Changing from one foot position to another requires coordination and balance. POWER The ability to overcome resistance in the shortest period of time leading to the ability to produce higher velocities against a given load. REACTION TIME Reaction time (RT) is a measure of the quickness with which an organism responds to some sort of stimulus. RT is defined as the interval of time between the presentation of the stimulus and appearance of appropriate voluntary response in the subject. SPEED The ability to move all or part of the body as quickly as possible. Speed puts your muscles through a fuller range of motion, improving flexibility. It trains more muscles (and more muscle fibers within muscles), leading to better muscle balance. And it incorporates exercises that directly strengthen injury-prone muscles What leads to community fitness?
