As per para 2501 of Indian Railway Commercial Manual, an assisted/private siding is a siding constructed to serve a Government Department, a factory, mill or other industrial premises other than the colliery or mining area under a special arrangement. The need for sidings arises because of the variety of traffic booked, carried and delivered by the Railways. Departmental sidings of the Railways Public siding or siding provided by the Railways Assisted siding serving an industrial unit Private siding serving an industrial unit Military siding Colliery sidings 8 Tata Steel Ltd. RMS 2. TMS (Rake Management System) (Terminal Management System) ❖ Rake based consignment tracking and pipeline ❖ Train/Rake operation ❖ Computerized booking and delivery of consignment ❖ Stock Holding in terms of summary of wagon types ❖ Station Accounting ❖ Train and stock Interchange ❖ RR generation/Transmission ❖ Terminal Handling performance ❖ Improved Customer Interface ❖ Loco holding, outage and power on-line ❖ Rake Transit Report ❖ Reporting to take care of Train/Load on summary basis ❖ Freight Balanced Sheet ❖ Invoice based consignment tracking ❖ Inward & Outward Freight registers ❖ Wagon wise Stock Holding ❖ Reporting of consist Wagon wise ❖ Invoice based loading originating tonnage and revenues. ❖ Wagon wise Interchange ❖ Statement of missing Wagons/wrongly delivered 12 Indian Railway Wagons 13 OPEN WAGONS BOXN BOXNHS BOXNS BOXN DETAILS BOXNHS DETAILS BOXNS DETAILS PCC FOR 66.10 TONNE PCC FOR 66 TONNE PCC FOR 70.70 TONNE STEEL STEEL STEEL PCC FOR 68.10 TONNE PCC FOR 68 TONNE PCC FOR 79.1T for 25T SLAG SLAG SLAG Axel/70.70 T for CC+8 LENGTH 10.713 METER LENGTH 10.713 METER LENGTH 10.713 METER WIDTH 3.2 METER WIDTH 3.2 METER WIDTH 3.135 METER HEIGHT 3.225 METER HEIGHT 3.233METER HEIGHT 3.581 METER 14 OPEN WAGONS BOXNHL BOST BOXNHL DETAILS BOST DETAILS PCC FOR 64 TONNE PCC FOR 65.10 TONNE STEEL STEEL PCC FOR 70 TONNE PCC FOR 63.10 TONNE SLAG SLAG LENGTH 10.963 METER LENGTH 12.800 METER WIDTH 3.250 METER WIDTH 3.100 METER HEIGHT 3.301 METER HEIGHT 2.835 METER 15 FLAT WAGONS BRNA BRN 22.9 BFNS BRNA DETAILS BRN22.9 DETAILS BFNS DETAILS PCC FOR 63.4 TONNE PCC FOR 67.30 TONNE PCC FOR 63.80 TONNE STEEL STEEL STEEL LENGTH 14.645 METER LENGTH 14.645 METER LENGTH 14.645 METER WIDTH 2.845 METER WIDTH 3.130 METER WIDTH 2.845 METER HEIGHT 2.544 METER HEIGHT 2.555 METER HEIGHT 2.776 METER 16 FLAT WAGONS BFNSM 22.9 BFNV BFNS 22.9 DETAILS BFNV DETAILS PCC FOR 69.10 TONNE PCC FOR STEEL 68.6 TONNE STEEL LENGTH OVER 10.034 METER LENGTH 10.963 METER HEAD STOCK WIDTH 2.845 METER HEIGHT 1.799 METER 17 HOPPER WAGONS BOBRN BOBSN BOBRN DETAILS BOBSN DETAILS PCC FOR COAL, 65 TONNE PCC FOR COAL, 60.80 TONNE LIMESTONE , LIMESTONE , DOLOMITE, SLAG DOLOMITE, SLAG etc. etc. LENGTH 10.600 METER LENGTH 11.597 METER WIDTH 3.500 METER WIDTH 3.020 METER HEIGHT 3.735 METER HEIGHT 3.304 METER 18 COVERED WAGONS BCN BCNA BCN DETAILS BCNA DETAILS PCC FOR CEMENT, 63.4 TONNE PCC FOR CEMENT, 66.0 TONNE FOOD ITEMS FOOD ITEMS LENGTH 15.429 METER LENGTH 14.450 METER WIDTH 2.950 METER WIDTH 2.950 METER HEIGHT METER HEIGHT 4.017 METER 19 TANK WAGONS BTPN BTAP BTCS BTPN DETAILS BTAP DETAILS BTCS DETAILS PCC FOR COALTAR, 64.20 TONNE PCC FOR ALUMINA 59.45 TONNE PCC FOR CAUSTIC 51.88 TONNE PETROL, DIESEL POWDER SODA etc. LENGTH 12.329 METER LENGTH 10.713 METER LENGTH 12.420 METER DIA.
