Step One Select a digital tool to keep your school documents, files, and links in one place Any other ideas? Step Two Create a system to organize your resources for school Set up folders – there is no wrong way! Do what makes sense to you Try the PARA method as developed by Tiago Forte: Projects, Areas, Resources, Archive Or, organize by subject – create a folder for each of your classes, an Archive folder for all files that are no longer of use to you, and an Admin folder for things like the BScN program manual, useful resources, certifications, clinical placement requirements, resumes, etc. Step Three Populate those folders! Create a “master document” for important passwords, or website links you may need in the future See links in the notes section below that you may want to save to your browser or add to your master document Let’s take 20 minutes to get this done Check out this link for more ideas Social Connections These are your future colleagues Working together is essential to your success The more you get to know people, the easier your journey will be Building a community in nursing school is shown to decrease risk for mental illness and increase success (Wei, et al., 2021). Social Connections How do you do that? Classes, group work, social media Western Fanshawe Nursing Student Association Fanshawe Student Union ++ Clubs, sports, teams, and groups!
