Procedure** 3.1 The Respective Divisional Operational Intelligence Units ([OIU](#OIU)) are responsible for gathering, evaluating and disseminating a Divisional tension indicator log of events, which will be forwarded to their respective SMT's for onward submission to the Chief Inspector of HQ Operations who will maintain a force overview of events. 3.2 Divisional Operational Intelligence Officers are responsible for reading daily situation reports, gathering details of any defined significant event that occurred within the Division or neighbouring Districts and maintaining a Divisional log of events which is to be kept and evaluated at the Divisional [OIU](#OIU). 3.3 When details of matters defined as 'Significant Events' are not included in the daily incident and situation report, Response and Departmental Managers should report such an event to the Divisional Intelligence Officer by completing the Operational Intelligence Unit Information Report form. **4.** []{#MONITORING.anchor}**Monitoring and Inspection** 4.1 All Policing Teams and Department Managers are to be notified of any significant forthcoming events which might raise the Tension Indicator, during the daily morning briefings and through the Divisional Briefing Document. The Divisional Operational Intelligence Unit will use the log to assist in the preparation of the monthly Divisional Tension Indicator report for the monthly Divisional Performance Review. []{#PAGE5.anchor}**5.** []{#SIGNIFICANT.anchor}**Significant events requiring immediate attention** 5.1 Any information of a forthcoming significant event, occurring either within the area of our jurisdiction or neighbouring districts, should be reported immediately to the Duty Officer. Appropriate immediate action should be taken according to the Passage of Information, Standing Order [OP 21].
