# Mometrix ## Levels Increase with Renal Failure * Uric Acid (urine) * Male: 250 to 800 mg/24 hr * Female: 250 to 750 mg/24 hr * Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN) * 0 to 3 years: 5 to 17 mg/dL * 4 to 13 years: 7 to 17 mg/dL * 14 to adulthood: 8 to 21 mg/dL * Increase Indicates Impaired Renal Function, as Urea is end product of protein metabolism * BUN/Creatinine Ratio - 10:1. Increases with Hypovolemia. With intrinsic kidney disease, the ratio is normal, but the BUN and creatinine are increased. * Creatinine Clearance, 24-hour (urine) - Children: 70 to 140 mL/min/1.73 m2 Evaluates the amount of blood cleared of creatinine in 1 minute. Approximates the glomerular filtration rate. ## Creatinine (serum) * 1 to 5 years: 0.3 to 0.5 mg/dL * 6 to 10 years: 0.5 to 0.8 mg/dL * To adulthood: Male 0.6 to 12 mg/dL. Female 0.5 to 1.1 mg/dL * Increases with impaired renal function, urinary tract obstruction, and nephritis. Level should remain stable with normal functioning ## Creatinine (urine) * 2 to 3 years: 6 to 22 mg/kg/24 hr * 4 to 18 years: 12 to 30 mg/kg/24 hr
