# **Lesson 1: The Citizenship Training Program** ## **Objective:** Understand the importance of the Citizenship Training Program (CTP) in promoting responsible and productive citizenry. ## **Content:** ### **1. What is CTP?** The Citizenship Training Program is a reformation of the Citizenship Advancement Training (CAT), focusing on Grade 10 students in both public and private schools. Its goal is to prepare students for leadership, followership, and personal discipline, equipping them with skills to serve the community. ### **2. Importance of CTP:** * Develops civic consciousness and encourages students to engage in community activities. * Inculcates patriotism, disaster preparedness, respect for authority, and leadership skills. * Prepares students for their roles as nation-builders. - To develop civic consciousness of students and citizen's participations and disaster preparedness, and contribute to the country's society. - To prepare the youth of their vital task as nation builders the defenders of the nation and develop their ethics of service and patriotism. - To acquire basic information, knowledge, and skills of effective community service. - To acquire self-discipline and enhance discipline in school and community. - To manifest moral values and traits as respects for law and order, respect for law authority, self-reliance - To inculcate into the minds and hearts of the youth the Filipino national spirit. - To provide the youth with realistic military orientation. ## **Activity:** ### **Group Role-Playing:** **Direction:** Group the class into five then choose one of the following scenarios concerning the importance of Citizenship Training Program.
