These territories were further divided by rivers like the Kamatoya, Sankosh, Rupahi, Bharali, and Dikrong. # Dynasties of Assam * **Danava Dynasty:** The first dynasty in Assam was the Danava Dynasty, founded by Mahimanga Danava. Its capital was Mairanka. They were not of Aryan origins. The last king of this dynasty was Ghatakasur. * **Bhauma Dynasty:** The second dynasty was the Bhauma Dynasty, founded by Narakasur. Its capital was Pragjyotishpur. Narakasur's general was Mura. # Events and Figures * **Narakasur:** Narakasur built the Kamakhya Temple. After his death, his son Bhagadutta ruled. Bhagadutta fought alongside the Kauravas for 8 days because his daughter Bhanumati was married to Duryodhan. The Dhigalphukuri was built during his reign. Bhagadutta's elephant was named Supratika. * **Lord Krishna:** Lord Krishna visited Assam three times. * 1st visit: To kill Narakasur. He stopped at Avakranta. * 2nd visit: To marry Rukmini, daughter of Bhismaka, king of Vidharbha. * 3rd visit: To his grandson Aniruddha, who fell in love with Usha, daughter of Banasur (contemporary of Narakasur).
