- Originates from the medial and lateral posterior femoral condyles.
- Inserts onto the posterior surface of the calcaneus (heel bone).
Soleus Muscle
- Originates from the posterior proximal fibula and upper two-thirds of the posterior tibia.
- Inserts onto the posterior calcaneus (heel bone).
Tibialis Anterior Muscle
- Originates from the upper two-thirds of the lateral tibia.
- Inserts onto the inner surface of the medial cuneiform and the base of the first metatarsal.
Tibialis Posterior Muscle
- Originates from the posterior surface of the upper tibia, fibula, and interosseous membrane.
- Inserts onto the inner surfaces of the navicular, cuneiform, and cuboid bones, as well as the bases of metatarsals 2, 3, and 4.
