CAPS Set-Up
- CAPS consists of 12 tests, each lasting 20 seconds
- To start, plug in the USB, open "CAPS EQ", click "New Test", and select the patient's information
- Select one of the 4 testing sets (ignoring the first one), and click "Next" to proceed to the calibration page
- Ensure the foam pad is not on the unit during calibration, and have the patient step on after calibration
CAPS Testing
- Instruct the patient to stand with feet together, hands by their side, and look straight ahead during the test
- Monitor the patient constantly to ensure their safety
- The first two tests involve standing on a flat surface with eyes open and closed
- After the first two tests, have the patient step off, and recalibrate the test with the foam pad
- The next four tests involve standing on the foam pad with eyes closed, and rotating/tilting their head
- Print and save the results of each set of tests (minh1, minh2, minh3)
Finishing the Test
- Disconnect the USB cable from the computer after completing all tests
- Combine the three CAPS files into a single PDF report using Adobe
- Save the PDF report to Norcal Brain Center and upload it to the patient's Jane account with a specific filename (e.g. "Minh Tran CAPS 7-11-22")
- Upload the report from the drive to the patient's Jane, and delete it from the drive once uploaded
