Look on the map then answer the following questions: What is being shown on the map? From what location is a map normally drawn? What is used to represent features found on the ground? WHAT IS A MAP? A map is a graphic representation of part of the land surface on a piece of paper that is drawn to scale. It is drawn as though looking down on the land from directly above (bird’s eye view). It uses colours, symbols and abbreviations to represent features found on the ground, simplifying the real world. There are several types of maps. For example, Political map.
