Write down numbers from 1 to 8. 2 Candidates from each political party campaign through the country to win the favour of their party members. 7 When people cast their vote, they are actually voting for a group of people called electors. The nominee is presented during the conventions. 8 The newly elected President and Vice President are inaugurated on January 20. During this ceremony the president-elect is officially sworn in as President of the United States. 1 The candidates meet the requirements established by the U.S. Constitution. 5 The presidential candidates and their running mates campaign throughout the country to win the support of the general population. 6 People in every state across the country vote for one President and Vice President on Election Day, using a ballot paper. 4 At the parties' national conventions, a final presidential nominee is selected. It's also at this convention the presidential candidate chooses his/her Vice-Presidential candidate. **POLITICAL PARTIES** Watch the video and answer the question underneath. **1.** Why do the Americans have a two-party system?
