Gold Biotechnology or Bioinformatics -- refers to as computational biology and is defined as conceptualizing biology to address biological problems using computational techniques and makes the rapid organization as well as analysis of biological data possible. 2\. Green Biotechnology or Agricultural processes It is a very important field of modern biotechnology. The foundation of green biotech is crop improvement and production of novel products in plants, which is achieved by implanting foreign genes to plant species that is economically important. This contains three main areas: plant tissue culture, plant genetic engineering, and plant molecular marker assisted breeding. 3\. Red biotechnology or Health care processes It uses the human body's own tools and weapons to fight diseases. Red biotechnology is of great importance in traditional drug discovery and also in creating new possibilities for treatment, prevention and diagnosis (by using new methods). Biotech medicines account for 20% of all market medicines. The continuous growth of knowledge, new discoveries and investments in this field, result in the fact that the opportunities for curing broaden too. The areas of red biotechnology are: cells and tissues, stem cells, gene therapy, and genetic testing. 4\. White Biotechnology or Industrial Processes This field of biotechnology is connected with industry. White biotech uses molds, yeasts, bacteria and enzymes to produce goods and services or parts of products. It offers a wide range of bio-products like detergents, vitamins, antibiotics etc. Most of the white biotech processes results in the saving of water, energy, chemicals and in the reduction of waste compared to traditional methods. 5\. Blue Biotechnology or Marine is the creation of products and processes from marine organisms through the application of biotechnology, molecular and cell biology, and tps2024 \| G8SHSCIB 13 bioinformatics. It is the field of science that deals with ocean exploration for development of new pharmaceutical drugs, chemical products, enzymes, and other products and processes. It also deals with the advancement of aquaculture and seafood safety, bioremediation, biofuels, among others 6\. Yellow Biotechnology -- it relates to the use of biotechnology in food production like making wine, cheese, and beer by fermentation. 7\. Grey Biotechnology -- refers to environmental applications to maintain biodiversity and the removal of pollutants or contamitants using microorganisms and plants to isolate and dispose of many kinds of substances such as heavy metals and hydrocarbons. 8\. Violet Biotechnology -- deals with the law, ethical, and philosophical issues around biotech. 9\. Dark Biotechnology -- is associated with bioterrorism or biological weapons and biowarfare using microorganisms, and toxins to cause diseases and deaths in humans, domestic animal, and crops. Specific areas of Bioethics: 1\. Clinical Ethics -- it is a practical discipline that aims to resolve ethical questions or disagreement that emerge in the practice of health care. Example: Patients may refuse recommended treatments or demand non-beneficial treatments, which puts their requests at odds with doctor's judgment. 2\. Health Policy -- it is about governmental efforts to manage health care as a public good. Example: Should an individual access to needed, costly and effective care depend on the ability of an individual's capacity to pay, or the willingness of the government to provide the funds? 3\. Genetics -- emerging genetic technologies and knowledge generate numerous value conflicts. Example: What is ethically appropriate if individuals have a mutation for a serious and untreatable genetic disorder? Are they allowed to have offsprings? 4\. Precision Medicine -- is about very expensive cancer drugs designed to target drivers of a metastatic cancer? Example: Gleevec, a medicine for chronic myeloid leukemia will cost a patient 135,000 dollars per year in order to extend the life of a patient for another 10 years. 5\. Reproductive Ethics -- addresses topics such as assisted reproduction, surrogacy, genetic manipulation of offspring, and abortion. Example: Should we keep a brain-dead pregnant person on life support to allow for the birth of their child? 6\. Research Ethics -- it addresses a variety of ethical challenges or questions that arise in the conduct of research, human or animal, clinical or basic science. Example: The use of humans as test individuals for a vaccine. Reference: Center for Practical Bioethics. (n.d.). What is Bioethics? What is the difference between Gene therapy and Stem cell therapy? "The world we lived in has been suffering for so long and humanity is facing an enormous problem on the excessive usage of natural resources. The energy we have has been purging from these resources is diminishing and is now critically endangered for future use. Not only that, sudden changes in our environment brought tragedies and disaster that leaves mark for a lifetime. People has intelligently abuse our nature. It's strange to know that most of the educated people regardless of gender are unaware of the importance of biotechnology in any aspects of our society. It is certain that human existence and survival on the coming days rest on the development and rapid advancement of biotechnology. Because of the advancement of thorough researched and development, the importance of biotechnology has come to existence. It is a field in biology that is extensively used in engineering, medicine, science and technology, agriculture and other valuable form of applications. Biotechnology can be a great solution to mankind struggles. It is an applied principles of chemistry, physics and engineering that comprises biological structure. Application in modern era includes the field of genetic engineering. It is the usage of this technology to culture cells and tissues for the modification of living organism for human purposes. By this, the importance of biotechnology in agriculture increases the crop production which makes it double or even higher than normal harvest. It has the ability to give biological protection from disease and pests, so a minor necessity for chemical insecticides. Biotechnology is capable of conveying genetic qualities of the crops that can withstand the changing climate condition, obtain an increase of nutritional qualities. This will provide the farmers a healthy lifestyle due to the less exposure of chemical residues and eventually give a higher profit. Benefits of biotechnology can also be experienced in the medical institution. Its technological application includes pharmaceutical products and medicines, and human therapy. It helps produced large quantity of protein for nutritional supplements and insulin for diabetic patient treatment. The gene therapy which, is the most successful result of biotechnology helps in curing aids and cancer. Application on biotechnology can be seen in industrial plant and factories. They are used to give an improved effectiveness and competence in production process while reducing the impact to the environmental issues. Waste products can be treated and recycled as a help to preserve natural resources. It is beyond expectation on what biotechnology has accomplished and reached in just a matter of time. Humanity has just started to comprehend and recognized the endless opportunities it has opened. As technology assures to provide solution to every frightening problem, so is mankind expecting a more develop biotechnology in the future - a technology that is more reliable and firm. This is the importance of biotechnology: Revolution of the future technology." Reference: My Essay Point. (2020).
