Self- awareness- all about knowing yourself including your thoughts, feelings, and actions. Differentiate Key Terms: VALUES- things important to you and characteristics you possess INTERESTS- things you like to do SKILLS- things you know how to do TALENTS- ability to do something easily PERSONALITY- what makes you the way you are Agents in Developing Personality Traits that Help to Cultivate a Winning Personality 1.Try to smile as often as possible. 2. Show genuine interest to other people. 3. Show honest and sincere appreciation. 4. Be a good listener and encourage other person to talk about himself. Traits of a good listener: Look interested Involve yourself by responding Stay on target Test your understanding Evaluate the message Neutralize your feelings. 5. Talk in terms of the other person’s need and interest. 6. Make other person feel important in a sincere manner. 7. Show an eager attitude to other person. 8. Remember that a person’s name is the most pleasant sound to him/her. 9. Don’t criticize, condemn or complain.
